On this day - September 20th, 1904 - Wright bros on Flight (Part II)
Wright brothers for the first time completed a full circle in a flight in 49 attempts. The entire flight lasted for one minute 36 seconds, and reached 4080 feet. The brothers went through 47 misses after their first December 17, 1903 flight that lasted for 59 seconds.
There are interesting stories about how their ability was appreciated more in Europe before they were given due credit, and recognition in US. Quoting an important brainyreads quote, "Familiarity breeds contempt, Proximity dilutes value", here is one more example to support this great quote with latter part expanded by the founder of AmmA Ecosystem.
